This was my dream car back in the day. It still looks better than most cars today and preferred it over its more expensive brother bora and the lamborghini jalpa. People have to understand the slow acceleration times because we were coming out of the gasoline shortage crises and i believe newly mandatory smog control devices which sapped performance from an engine as much as a restrictor plate would.

They even reference it for the time comparing it to a 5.0 family sedan motor that makes 100hp, what a great looking car. Looks like the Bora had the 4.7 V8 but in Euro trim the 3.0 made 217hp in the SS, put in a set of higher compression pistons (stock 9.1:1) and apparently you can make 240hp + not bad for a car that weighs 3150lbs and is in the SEVENTIES.

The lady I talked was talking to said that wasn't bad at all. Especially since the guys had/has lots of funds And I told her that, if that lady wanted a long term solid relationship, then in that case she kept buying Maseratis, thinking because of the name that it was fast and better than other cars out there but weren't. This was pretty fast in the late 70's/early 80's. Any car back in the early 80's that could 0-60 mph in under 8 seconds and 0-100 mph in under 20 seconds was a fast car. Car performance has moved on dramatically in the last 40 years. Even an Audi S3 and a Mercedes A35 AMG would obliterate the fastest cars of the early 80's i.e. Lamborghini Countach and a Ferrari 512bbi.

The future car they are referring to is the BiTurbo which had its own set of cool but, like BMW, in a very subtle way. Of course they were insanely unreliable, and friends who had them would tell of stories like when they turned on the headlights the wipers activated.
