That was refreshing, just pure car sounds, and a couple of missed shifts thrown in. Perfect.

Although I've been a lifelong fan of German sports cars, I must admit this has always been a "bucket list" car. So many great Group B cars to be had, hardly a bad one in the bunch, but this has to be at the top of those legendary rally rockets. Great to see Aris taking his Renault 5 Turbo out for a good flogging. This video is one of the best two minute alarm clocks a car guy could have! Thanks again Petrolicious!

wow, this video is way too short but reminds me of the good old times. Way back in 1980 I owned a Renault 5 Alpine equipped with a bunch of goodies like 2 twin carburetors, `hot´ camshaft and Devil exhaust this babe turned out to be a real Golf GTI killer ;-)

Renault 5 was one of my favorite renaults since i first saw your video about red Renault 5 Turbo.. :) This only proved that this car deserves much much more attention. I Love your videos/short films.. keep up the quality and wish you good light during filming! :)

If you asked the guy driving in this film to wear a helmet, he'd be pretty pissed off. Come back to me when you've camped in the forests of Spain, Corsica, Greece... and had the legends that made rallying what it is today, fly past in Group B monsters, as I have, and then you can talk to me about whether someone on a public road, in a replica Turbo II has to wear a helmet... oh, you can't. Go back to your Playstation.

Nick Brown read before you comment, or understand what was written before you shoot off some fiery post. I watched these rally cars growing up and they all had pro drivers wearing helmets. Seemed weird to see someone without a helmet drive one. Didnt say he had to, just said it was wierd.

My grandpa used to own one of these, he said it was the most difficult car to drive and that it was the one that scared him the most, you had to stay on top of it to keep control, he crashed it once and sold it after 2 years and bought a 911 turbo (930 chasis) and he said that this one was easier to drive than the r5 by a long shot. Those were the days...

To short of a great footage of this " toaster" the pedestrian version the LeCar was a tribute to the Citroen 2CV , in the 80s. The mid engine Turbo was an 80s hot rod , a peice of French ART......in the French tradition....doesnt have to be better But to be French " it must be different" the French got it , on the mark with this in the 80s it was different and way better. In the States, the standard versions all made it to the scrape heap.. My father had one , my girl friend had one...I liked the " toaster" If I found one now id put a subaru wrx mid engine make my own Just for the smile on my face

If this was John Campions' it would be a GTL with stick on wheel arches, a Pinto motor, geared to top out at 45mph and wouldn't be allowed on gravel. Those who know, know what I mean. Nice to see a classic being used as was intended.

I'll look the same on 16:9 monitors, but WAAAAY better on 21:9 monitors. Remember, this isn't hate, it's just a remark :)

The degree of *WANT* is off the scale with this one. The R5 Turbo 2/MaxiTurbo is -perhaps- the only car that I've always wanted, for over 35 years, without a second thought. Unfortunately, I am in California, and not wealthy enough. Why the mid-engine hot-hatch is not a form-factor that in constant production - and instead relegated to an oddity of unattainable scarcity, while SUVs dominate - is one of the great disappointments in life.
