From 1983 to 1984 I produced and directed a local Colorado Springs TV show called "Video Game All Stars," which aired on KOAA TV, channels 5 and 30, the NBC affiliate. There were only 3 episodes produced. I asked my friend William Kirk Kennedy, then 29 years old, to host one episode. He interviewed players and did a few stand-ups and commercials.
Kennedy died April 30, 2010 in Colorado Springs. We watched part of this show at his wake, and Maria Grundmann asked, "Did Kirk ever do anything without irony?"
Highlights of this show include the early 1980s coin-op video games, the hairstyles and the funny, funky soundtrack, parts of which were recorded on 3/4" video tape without a control track.
