Poyntz Pass finished 21st in the National 2-days later. Churchtown Boy (77), Dromore (81), Rolls Rambler (82), Cranlome (87) all did the same when you could double up in this or the Foxhunters and then the National. Griffiths Bar (98) was tragically the last to do attempt this.

shaun spadah Ah yes Tony Preston, the worst ever commentator in National History! Still cannot listen to his part in 1966 it's that bad.

Sadly looks like a horse pulled up after the first with what looked like a broken leg.

Tilthammer Mill, trained by Mercy Rimell. Was declared for the National at the 5-day stage being the 79th horse in the list.

If you go to the 15:20 mark as the runners head to the finish, you can see in the background the jockey in green standing with the horse he pulled up. Maybe the horse wasn't fatally injured.

2 of the Jockeys Mark Pitman (riding as a amateur at the time) and Mark Bradstock were as amateurs also eligible to ride in the Foxhunters Chase
