Fantastic job. Cars of that era are rapidly disappearing and it's nice to see a clean example.

Just now seeing your videos, I love your taste in the old fords! I've owned many mustang's, capris, and tbirds of that era and loved them all! I wish I had all them back now! I had 7 capris, 6 tbirds, and 3 mustang's! I favored the tbirds, having 4,6,and 8 cylinders in all. Man, I miss them all!!

Thanks for the comment. It's never too late to get back into the game on these cars. They are still relatively affordable (esp compared to 60's muscle cars).

I have an identical ‘84 RS Turbo my Dad bought new in ‘84. Been in storage since ‘99, all original mint condition. You didn’t mention it, but the color of the striping in the plastic trim depended on the color of your interior. Gray interior got silver/whitish stripes. Red interior got red stripes. Also, articulated sport seats with square hole head restraints were optional as were the TRX aluminum rims, cruise control and power locks. Very very rare cars for sure. Nothing beats that whistling sound they make. Midrange in 3rd gear was pretty strong for 145 horse.

I had the exact car in 1985. If had been outfitted with a huge intercooler by the dealership head mechanic. It was an insanely fast car in town. I could build up boost with the clutch pedal and do massive burnouts! It had a beautiful cloth charcoal interior. Very racy. Great buckets too.never dyno’d it but it was faster then the 5.0 at the time.

The 2.3T can produce some impressive HP / TQ numbers. The intercooler was a smart bolt-on as it allowed more boost. And more boost = more fun!

Man that turned out nice. I bought a black 1983 Capri RS 5.0 4 speed manual transmission t top finishing up storm damage power line work following Katrina from the original owner. It was all there but it had been very well used. I sold it and I wish I hadn't. I love the Fox Body I've had a 85 5.0 GT 5 speed and 1993 Chrome Yellow feature car. I'd love to even find a base model and put an old 302 in it. Sorry I'm rambling. Oh yeah that Chrome Yellow is my profile picture here

There's always "one that got away". Finding a good condition Capri is getting harder and harder these days. I had an 81 Capri many years ago. Was an odd color combo and would love to find another one just like. But I've been looking forever and can't seem to locate one..... Thanks for the comment!

I bought a 1982 Mercury Capri GS new, it was all black and it had a 3.3 inline six sufficient power i thought. This car was loaded with TRX suspension, TRX wheels with Michelin tires. It also had the usual AM/FM Cassette however it had the optional Premium Sound system Amplifier when you turned this on the sound was so much better! I miss my baby!!! The v8 motor only came with the manual tranny. They also had a smaller v8 engine besides the 302 I think it was a 262 0r 265 I am not exactly sure the displacement.I new i couldnt afford a Mustang GT.However my Capri was a head turner a classy sporty Black Beauty nobody needed to know it didnt have a v8 under the hood! They also made a Capri Black Magic option probably very collectible! I think they came with the Reccarro Seats too!

Very cool that you bought one new in 82. I've never owned a fox with the inline 6, I'm sure they had plenty of torque. In my opinion, the 79-82 had the best body style for the Capri with the flat hatch and early style tail lights. Thanks for sharing your memories!
