I played in this game my rookie year. Hendy #29. As a defensive back group we played like sh*t first half. We blew coverages or flat out got beat. We played better second half. I don't know about the Chiefs but we limped into that game. Dan Fouts played with a fracture in his lower leg. I had a hip pointer 2 weeks old. Jeff Dale#37 bad neck that eventually a few years later forced him into early retirement and on and on. I think the attendance was 29,000. I did get to bash Henry Marshal on the onside kick we recovered..of course football karma I get knocked on my ass by #72 a human building 2:21:22 sit down rookie lol

@Mike Holzenbein I grew up a Raiders fan but had a lot of respect for the Chargers back in that era. It was funny tho, pre draft I never worked for them. I worked for all the NFC west teams, AFC Central teams and LA Raiders twice. I killed it in drills and the weight room. But they all passed on me for faster guys. I went in the 3rd round to San Diego 69th overall. A veteran .500 team by then. I wasnt star struck I just wanted to get to work and play. They were good guys. Their own cliques and set in their ways. San Diego really needed to hit the weight room I noticed LOL

I was at the Jets-Browns game while this contest was being played. My friends and I were listening to updates on the radio and we couldn't believe the things we were hearing about Stephone Paige. How can I guy have 238 yards receiving in the first-half? That was before Fantasy Football became popular, but if it was, it would have been nice to have Stephone Paige that day.

The Chiefs played the last three home games before tiny crowds in 1985. 21,762 v. Colts, 18,199 v. Falcons, and 18,178 in this game. They won all three games. Stephane Paige had over 300 yards receiving in this game won by the Chiefs 38-34.

Especially when they trash us Broncos fans. We have sold out Mile High since 1972, and have had plenty of lean years especially recently. We are ride or die, they are "hop on the Mahomes bandwagon". We will see how loyal the fans really are when they miss the playoffs this year haha.

I attended that Vikings-Eagles game. For many years, it was the largest fourth-quarter comeback in the history of the league, and the score was 23-0 with less than eight minutes remaining. There were many fights in the parking lot after the game. Lots of Eagles fans had left early, thinking they had the game won, but were still hanging out and partying in the lot. When told that their team lost, many of them couldn't believe it. In several spots, the frustration and anger boiled over into fights. I am from New York and just happened to be visiting Philadelphia, and I attended the game. It was one crazy experience.

Look how empty Arrowhead Stadium is! "Chiefs Kingdom" is a complete myth. It holds up because they're successful in the regular season. When it goes bad (see late 2000s, early 2010s) the fans abandon the team.

This was the last game of the 12th straight season the Chiefs had missed the playoffs. The high water mark during those years was 1981, when they won 9 games. There is no fan base that would be anywhere near capacity after 12 straight futile seasons. They didn't just lose a lot. Many of those teams were straight up hard to watch. If a restaurant puts out lousy food for 12 years, you don't bitch about how customers won't fill up the place.

I've been able to attend games from about 1976 to 2018. This was the worst time for lack of energy in the stadium. When Marty Schottenheimer was hired, Arrowhead came alive. Even the awful teams in the 10 years before Reid was hired would have a full stadium with some energy.
