Went candlestick bowling for the first time ever a few weeks ago while visiting family in Connecticut. We are very good 10-pin bowlers from Ohio, and had a blast playing this! Funny hearing the announcers call pin leaves different things than what we call them (ie...the diamond, the four hourseman, the spread eagle...etc.).

Also they call them strings, not games, boxes, not frames, gutters, not channels, and an X on the score sheet is a 10, not a strike. A lot of fun tho. A different animal from tenpin.

I'm from Lynn, so I much prefer the likes of Tony Leo and Joey Tavernese, but Tommy Olszta is one of, if not the greatest ever.

Tony Leo is my buddy's grandfather. He was a heck of a nice guy.

Sammy White’s closed not long after this taping, along with dozens upon dozens of candlepin alleys that closed in the 80s. Last I remember, the building is still standing, as an Acura dealership.
