This series is really fun. I love how Tasshi's knowledge and enthusiasm are so engaging.

Gary Klein was also making aluminum bikes in the 70s... not yet full on production but making bikes. His first run of bikes for others was 1975.

Fascinating story, thanks for sharing a bit of the Cunningham history 👍🏼 I will embarrassingly admit that did it not even know about Cunningham bikes until watching this video. You have assisted in educating me with another delightful snippet of biking history 🙌🏼

Such an insane rig ! 🤯 Love the extremely innovative details. Imagine riding this in a race back in the 80s surrounded by lugged steel bikes. It probably seemed crude in comparison. Far more advanced than anyone could grasp at the time, like alien technology.

I owned a 1986 Steve Potts Signature, and a 1990 Steve Potts Signature as well, the 1986 I ordered from Point Reyes Bikes and the 1990 was ordered directly from Steve. I had gone down to Point Reyes Bikes to hang out for a week and while I was there Point Reyes Bikes had a finished ordered Black (painted and anodized) Cunningham Racer all built up and ready to be taken home, and if memory serves me correctly that 1986 Black Cunningham Racer was $4,100.00 USD.

Cannondale and KLEIN started making alu bikes in the very late 70ies... Not just Charlie 😅 But that bike is super cool 😎 Greetings from Croatia 😎

Great video. I'd urge everyone to check out the post from The Radavist made on 4/5/23. Another , in my mind, even more interesting Cunningham. Also from Black Mountain bikes

These guys built a company that makes it difficult for the average guy to find a good deal on a used bikes , now we have to buy at a mark up from them or others exploiting good deals .. It even takes work away from local bike shops that would inspect bikes and get them on the road for a ideally a lower cost... If there's money to be made someone will find a way and for that I do respect the entrepreneur spirit...
