I had an RM80 and a YZ125 when I was a very young man... I miss dirt bikes. They're a way of life and once you have one it never leaves your blood.... there's nothing like it and you always want to get back into it. I'm way-old now but I'm gonna get one and I'm gonna blame it on you.

My mom never let me have any motorcycles growing up and when dad got a divorce first thing he did was get me a new 1991 kx250. I couldn’t stay on that freaking thing for more than 5 minutes. So powerful! Miss u old man.

When I was a kid the YZ's were the top of the line. SO powerful !!! If you were in 8th grade and had a YZ80, you were the coolest kid. I had a Honda XR80, so I was pretty cool. More tame than a CR80.

Beauty of a bike! Love it. My girls have been busting around on their Suzuki quad master 50 and finally convinced me to get mine out. Pulled the ‘85 ATC 250R out of the shed after 7 years or so. A quick once over and she’s runnin crisp. Braaaaap. 😎

I can tell you are a skilled guy, (because i am too), but I have a tip for the air filter oiling. I can see it is blotchy looking as some cells are filled with oil. After you oil it completely, and after you squeezed out the major excess, then use white paper towels to squeeze out the rest of the filled cells. I keep using the white paper towels until almost no more oil color is transferring to it. Then I know all the walls of the cells are coated, but none of them filled. Gets the most air and blocks the dirt perfectly.

Oil filled float bowl. I bet over the years, gas was able to flow into the float bowl, (gas in the tank, petcock on), and as the gas evaporated, it left the oil behind. Tank probably had an ounce or two of oil in it. I forgot, that was just before sub-frames.

As kids, a buddy of mine and his younger brother helped their sister out who had a loose tooth by tying one end of a piece of string to the tooth and the other end to a door knob,----and slammed the door shut to pull out the tooth, (I think they got the idea from a Bugs Bunny cartoon). I wonder if a prybar would have worked better? :)
