I knew that Geoff Bodine was a Daytona 500 winner, but until recently, I didn’t know he was also an IROC winner. During his NASCAR career, he had a total of 18 Winston Cup victories, and peaked at 3rd in the points in 1990.

Yes! The cars where supposed to be sportscars so I don’t get why they drive the Stockcar track. I was always told they turn and handle better than the unwieldy NASCAR cars.

The intro theme sounds appealing. Does anyone have any idea of where I can find that?

Weird to see Jack Arute do play by play. I know he did some I think with MRN in the 70's, but still weird... I guess this was I would call "ABC limbo" a.k.a. we don't have anyone sufficient to do play by play until they hired Paul Page from NBC.

This was their only race between the Michigan 500 and the inaugural Nazareth 200. Trautwig was on assignment, and Lampley had been relieved of his duties. Page was on his way after the NBC CART races commitment had been fulfilled for '87.

Engines sound kinda screechy. Corvettes 5.7 liter sounded much better
