Wow! Great to see Murray lifting up the Krauser!!! 🙂 His enthusiasm for motorsport knew no bounds.

No. 52 was Joey Dunlop on 500 triple! That was a great wee bike 2 outright TT lap records (Joey in 84 and Steve Cull in 88) won the 87 Senior, 3 North West 200s. Sadly she was destroyed after catching fire during the 88 Senior TT due to holed expansion chamber. Thanks for posting!!

A 500cc 2 stroke bike with 280 lbs weight with 160hp with a power spread of 3000rpm with no electronics...the engines rev twice as quick as a four stroke engine & put the power down twice as quick...makes a four stroke bike seem like a road bike in comparison...I had a career ending huge highside with the Suzuki 500 2 stroke when the gearbox seized...2 stroke 500s were the greatest race bikes ever made

I believe you without a doubt. My very first (street) bike was a 1974 Suzuki T500. The first bike in the world that got a reliable twostroke oil pump working. Suzuki was really proud of that. Now my nephew bought a 50cc scooter. A twostroke, those are faster. And another fact, we should never forget Walter Kaaden. You know why, I suppose, the rest of the world should Google that man.

Toprak has just done a 1.24.6 lap of Donington Park (13/07/2024) while Sarron did a 1.39.91, nearly 16 seconds a lap faster on a WSB. Still, thats progress after 37 years.

Why do they have piston engines? Turbine engines were far more powerful, even those days. Think about helicopters needing light engines and 1500 or 2000 hp. Why didn't they allow those in Moto GP? Races would take half the time!

Never missed a gp at Donnington, better circuit than Silverstone for bikes. Saw my first moto gp last year at Silverstone as it was rossi last one nothing compared to the 500's. Saw his first on 125 at donny and last 👍

Gran carrera. Si señor. Aunque la electrónica no le ha quitado espectáculo al acontecimiento. Sin electrónica no se iría tan rápido y se verían mas accidentes, aunque se verían los "auténticos" pilotos

No problem, everybody paid 25 times more, when numbers of spectators dropped. That trend will continue, until only Yankee billionairs can afford a ticket. It's called good old capitulism. Give up, in Latin.

A tank that lasts forever. Rather own any 1993 CB, than a brand new R6. Should I call you names? Just kidding. You got the point. Old bikes have character, new bikes have stupid plastic designers. I regret selling my 1974 Suzuki T500 and my Cagiva Allazura 350 (in fact a Ducati Allazura, the Pantah engine). Yes, stupid, never sell classics.

OMG my neighbor let me ride his '81 CB900F when I was 17. Just down the street he said, not on the highway. I got to the end of the street and there was the hwy, and I just had to power thru a few gears to feel it. Big mistake, with only 4 stroke dirt bike experience when I hit the gas in 3rd gear it pulled so hard I slid back on the seat and the throttle twisted to full. I was hanging on for dear life, accelerating and couldn't release the throttle. Finally I did and was doing 95 in a speed wobble. That day almost ended me.

In the nineties, the first 600cc STREET bikes broke the 100 bhp limit. That was fourstroke, twostrokes are almost TWICE as powerful. And race bikes have always been a lot faster. So, yes, 320/liter, MrStalin.
