Forget Man City and Aguero. This was the real last gasp winning game/goal.

22 years ago today, good god, seems like yesterday, the title music to the match...takes me right back to the nervous wreck of a 15 year old I was that night, just as the coverage started. Great day, great memories.

Seconded Bruce. Best manager I have seen for England in the 40 or so years I have been supporting the national team. Sir Bobby was a gem, a fantastic manager, but also a fantastic man off the pitch. He is sadly, sadly missed

Old first division trophy should have been retired at the end of the 91/92 season. Now it's handed to the winners of the 2nd tier, scandalous! . No sense of history at all. Premiere trophy is tack personified.

I love George Graham. I'm a Tottenham fan though, and he was a bit of a divided figure @ WHL. But that interview at the beginning, such a relaxed situation for George, he really had nothing to lose and along with everyone else - didn't expect the finale. COYS

I agree 100% I would compare the Liverpool team of the 80's to modern day Barcelona. off Topic but the thing that pissess me off now though how fickle all the fans have become, they keep going on about how Arsenal haven't won anything for 7 years, I wonder what they would of done from 71-89? Apart from the thirties Arsenal were never a team who consistently challenged for the league, we owe that to Wenger!

yeh you're right mate. thats what they used to do in them days for some reason. first game at Anfield 1-1 Replay at Highbury 0-0 second replay at Villa Park 2-1 Managers and players these days wouldnt go for it because of the amount of games but i think they should bring replays back for both domestic cups myself.

DID YOU KNOW THAT LIVERPOOL DIDNT LOSE SAT 3PM KICK OFF 88/ 89 SEASON SUN WED FRI. Look at Rocastle make you weep. RIP ROCKY.

Why were Arsenal playing Liverpool at Villa Park in the League Cup? Was it a 2nd replay on a neutral ground or something?
@pablojablo6371
Жыл бұрын
Because no club wanted to take the chance of it being played home or away ( toss of a coin stuff ) so they both mutually acceppted a neutral venue and what a night it was.

he's a plastic scouser from the other side of the mersey but he's an evertonian. he was probably doing cart wheels in the studio when michael thomas got the winner. i'm a kopite and the more itv built us up as double winners, the more doubts i was having before the game. i was a very nervous 9 year old that night ha ha.
