Jack Daniel It's the elderly that tend to cherish these cars, put little miles on them and eventually sell them onto a younger generation. Would you kick an elderly woman down a flight of stairs that has looked after an 80's Honda from new ? Oh wait this is youtube...

***** I would generally recommend against selling a CRX to someone of my generation. We have a knack for either totally destroying the cars, or doing things to them to turn them into street racers. I'm 22 and drive a white '91 CRX HF that has over 304K miles on it. Luckily, I understand the value of taking care of such a car as these things are getting more and more rare, and they have incredible gas mileage compared to a lot of the other cars that are being driven today. Because I cherish this car, I am trying to put in the money and work to restore it as best I can to its stock condition. Just bought a motor for it that only has 150K miles on it from a friend for $150. Soon, I will have the engine swapped, and will no longer be leaking so much darn oil. Most of the small problems this car has were there before I got it a year ago. Honestly, though, don't just pawn it off to some kid my age. Make sure they will be able to take good care of the darn thing.

Living in Japan and owning a few cars, I can agree the TRANSMISSION has about 22k miles but how many HOURS are on the engine? I drove from Atsugi base to Yokota base which was about 25miles or so but sometimes I sat in traffic for 3hours. Yes the transmission drove for 25 miles or so, but the engine ran for 3hrs. Mileage is a transmission thing, engine runs regardless if the car moves or not..;-)

Canadian Hondas from that era don't have the clutch ignition lock out either, so it must be a US thing. 80s Hondas were great, it's nice to see one in such clean and stock condition. My Dad had an 88 Prelude Si 4WS which I learned to drive stick on, so this takes me back.
@justinr8526

My 1990 Civic doesn't have a shift lockout either. I giggled at the oh-so-familiar shifter wiggle to make sure it's in N before turning the key. You learn to do that quickly after the first time your car tries to jump a curb when you turn the key and it's in gear.
@MindBlowerWTF
9 жыл бұрын
Justin R I never do that in my own car, as if I see the shifter, I know what's up, but when I get into someone else car, wiggle it.
@Christobevii3

Justin R What does this mean? Like if you start it in gear with the clutch pushed in what happens?
@justinr8526
9 жыл бұрын
Alex Kocurek If the clutch is pushed in, it just starts. But most cars have a lockout that prevents the car from turning over unless the clutch is depressed. In my car, the car will turn over even when the clutch is released, which means that the car will lurch forward when you try to start it because the engine is "connected" to the wheels still.

One of the most interesting things about these POV drives is seeing all the cool cars at the side of the road ...here in the UK we don't have such a variety of nice cars. Can't find anything made pre-2000.

Great practice for delivering mail. Half practice for driving in the UK ("look right, stay left" mantra delete).

I feel your pain. Every time I go to India, the JDM setup confuses me. Most cars sold there are of JDM configuration.
