Nice work. I have a 1988 Honda Elite SE50P. It has been sitting with a half tank of gas in it for over 10 years. The battery is dead. I pumped fuel out of the tank but need to attempt a start with some fresh gasoline. New battery installation needed first. Thanks for your video. What carb cleaner are you using? Bill

I use the Berryman chem-dip for soaking. Cheap Walmart carb cleaner for spraying.

Old gas. Most likely varnished. Fuel system and carb needs a good cleaning before anything else then new fuel mixture. Make sure the mixture is correct for that engine. Job well done

Thomas ...great video. I just acquired a 1988 Honda Elite E with 3200 miles on it. Your video is just what I needed !! Thanks so much !! It has been in a clean, dry barn for over ten years. It is in much better shape than yours so maybe I won't have any big problems.

Any ideas on where to get parts for that carb I can't find anything

Your best bet is eBay. You might get lucky and find a rebuild kit. Otherwise you might have to settle with an aftermarket carburetor.

@@SouthpawWorkshop that's my problem the choke is on the wrong side and hits the shock. I need to find a way to swing the intake manifold away from the engine

I have an 89 sb50, I'm struggling with the exact same issues the video addressed, I can't figure out the carb, no air filter, and can't hardly find parts anywhere. Can u point me in the right direction please

I learned everything I know about small engines by watching KZitem. Check out the channel Mustie1 to see how to take apart, clean and rebuild a carb. He does it in just about every single video. The older videos are more detailed than the newer ones.

I have a 1986 spree and its been sitting for a year and there oil coming from the head idk what to do or what happen because it worked fine before
@SouthpawWorkshop

Not sure if this is your issue, but I found that if the Spree sits for a long time, and the oil tank is full, the oil will eventually leak into the engine until it is full, then could potentially overflow out of your intake. You may have to crank on it for a while until the oil clears the engine. Even then it will smoke for a while and run really poorly until all the oil is out of the system. Good luck!

I’m not a mechanic. I just do this as a hobby and make videos about it. If you live in the St. Louis area, I would be willing to work on your scooter for the video footage.

I am told that my 1988 Elite E Scooter needs the attached part. I tried ordering and it was out of stock. Any creative ideas on a different part to use or where I can find one of these? Gasket Set 16010-gs6-305 (www.cmsnl.com/products/gasket-set_16010gs6305/)

You may want to try Amazon or eBay. They are pretty good resources for hard-to-find vintage parts
