I rememeber seeing that accidet before. Remmebered it as being horrific and seeing it again has not changed my opinion. One of the worst f1 crashes I have ever seen - he ws so luck o survive this with fairly minor injuries

The Zonta / Villeneuve combo of Spa 1999... A quote from Carlos Castellá (one of the best motorsport journalists in Spain) when commenting live that grand prix: "At least the chassis designed by Adrian Reynard has proven itself safe enough". Good news, but the team would surely prefer their drivers wouldn't utterly destroy the cars because of a silly bet to see if anyone could make Eau Rouge flat out 🤣

Drivers have been driving Eau Rouge without slowing down for decades because it's not much of a bend. Keke Rosberg drove the Raidillon at full speed back in the 1980s.

Imola could have very nearly been 3 death is 3 days as Sid Watkins (absolute legend) prevented Barrichello from swallowing his own tongue and blocking his airways in fact by technicality Imola had 3 deaths as Barrichello died for 6 minutes

Rubens almost choked after that crash having his tongue stuck in the throat. It was presumably Sid Watkins who spotted that and did the right treatment on the spot. Unfortunately, nothing he could do the next 2 days... RIP Sid e saúde ao Rubens e ao seu filho Dudu!

Pedro Lamy in 1994. They suddenly outlawed diffusors after the Senna accident. Thirteen cars--including Lamy--had rear wings snap off.

Simply put it, the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix was a awfully consequential race because we lost 2 drivers in Senna and Ratzenberger that weekend, and also very likely could have lost Barrichello The Christian Fitipaldi flip across the finish line was crazy too

WOW Jos Verstappens rear tyre touched the helmet of that marlboro driver and got launched even higher in to the air because of it. That is crazy, the Marlboro driver was insanely lucky to survive that in my opinion... wow

Hockenheim was certainly uniqu back then.THose mssively long straights! I suppose monza sttill hss pretty long straigts but they are nothing compared to the old Hoickenheim. IN ttruth many drivers thought the track waas borng apparently - Gerhard Berger certainly had a lot of success there though!
