Not only was college cheap but the competition to get into good schools was way less intense. I got into UC Berkeley in 1992 with a 3.5 GPA and a 1320 on my SATs. No sports. No clubs. No student government. No volunteer work. Couple AP classes. All I had was some glowing recommendations from a few teachers. A walk down memory lane. I remember being dropped off at the mall and hanging out with friends in the Arcade. Those are also the days where they had $1 movie theatre's. I could never fully enjoy movies no matter what theatre I was at because stadium seating wasn't a thing back then. I could only hope that in a theatre packed full of people nobody who was tall would sit in front of me and that barely happened. I remember the sound of manual credit card machines. Don't know why I loved the sound of it so much. Cars had roll down windows. Coming home with the streetlights came on and watching "Tales from the Crypt" at night with my friends. Simpler time back then and I have a wealth of childhood memories. I have to watch some more of these videos!!

For example, my favorite pair of jeans are the Levis Silvertab Baggy Jeans. I have worn those jeans since high school. They have brought them back but you have to buy them online. At 47 years old you will never see me wore skinny or slim jeans. Another thing I still do from the 90's is listen to more music from the 90's like Tupac and Biggie Smalls. But now I started listening to alternative bands from the 90's like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Collective Soul, The Cranberries, etc. That was a time when things were slowly revolutionizing like the internet but look what evolves now. I do miss the 90's and if I had to things all over again, I would.

Back in the 1990s, my mom had the pleasure to work at Starter Sportswear's HQ when they were based out of New Haven, CT. During school vacations, David Beckerman, Starter's CEO at the time, would let her bring me in and he'd let me help out by sorting out filing drawers. Of course, Mr. Beckerman always insisted on giving me some money off the books for doing that since I was in middle school at the time and I always told him he didn't have to, but he always said he'd feel bad if he didn't because the filing cabinets were always properly organized when I finished up which made his and his other employees' jobs easier. There was also the lead graphic designer, a man who had the nickname of Monster whose office was packed to the gills with Godzilla and other kaiju figures if a space wasn't used for his job. Monster worked just down the hall from my mom, who was in the AP department and the two knew each other. Sometimes, he'd give me a sneak peek of upcoming shirt, jacket and hat graphics, which was cool. Couple more things: Starter's New Haven HQ used to have a factory outlet on the ground floor and twice a year at the start of spring and just before winter hit, they'd have a huge parking lot sale for factory overstock stuff. I had so much stuff from Starter and it was all incredibly well made that it broke my heart as well as my mom's when Mr. Beckerman sold the company off and Walmart bought them out. The quality tanked heavily at that point.

The 90's were my childhood years, so I was too young to grasp the nuances of that era (let alone the more adult aspects that flew around me). However, I think many of us will agree that it was the transitional period between America's social climate becoming more increasingly isolated physically (in the irony of becoming more connected), evidenced by the "iPad Generation". I do think we've became overall more collectivist since everything is TOO connected now, so I do miss the pre-digital experience of social life when it was slow and easygoing. My 1990's experience will forever remain my personal treasure.

I’m so grateful to have been a 90s teen. I regret never having Glamour Shots taken though. I remember begging for those for years. lol

1990s was the last decade of crusing too, man we spent more hours in our cars than we did at home sometimes...and never left the city, this strip on the North end, hit Eastside strips, North and finally the 10 or 12 streets on the South, Friday and Saturday was set hitting, the Nights was having the whip ready to cruise Main Street til 2 am.

I actually still have my Broncos Starter jacket from when I was in high school. It was one of the first “expensive” things I bought myself

I love the 90s style presentation in the video… even the way the person is talking sounds very 90s

I miss film! I took photography in college and loved developing my own photos in the dark room!

I always went to AAA insurance for a trip ticket instead of a huge map. Most all of my best memories come from the 90s and early 00s

When Y2K came around I was very disappointed nothing happened. Still have my cd wallets though and my cd's, over five hundred. What I don't miss is having to memorize phone numbers or carrying floppy disks around for school, and those numbers are still etched in my head, lol.

Although our services and infrastructures were largely unaffected by Y2K, It still was a huge nightmare to programmers and engineers. They were those who had to revise untold billions of lines of source code to ensure that the year change didn't result in, say, a collapse of banking systems, which rely heavily on accurate dates.

It does fit into the 90s as well but I did mention it in an 80s video. I probably should have it in a part 2 of the 90s. Thank you for watching wesleynexman4700!

I still have a Phoenix Suns Starter jacket from 1996 after visiting the US. Wore it a few times then decided to keep it as a collectors item as they were going out of fashion at the time. Plus I lived in Africa at the time where it was hot 9/12 months of year.

How come I can remember so much from my childhood, from the 70s and 80s? While the 90s not so much. The 70s and 80s were the best.

Hell I developed my own film in the darkroom at school. Back in the 90's some of those extracurriculars were just open access. Like, walk in at 10am on a Saturday and just start screwing around, and the school paid for all the expenses. So like why would I pay to have my stuff developed at Walgreens when I can go do it for free at school, and save my money for the arcade. 2:54 Ha!! I had that exact same TV in my room growing up, also hooked up to an NES! (And a Commodore 64.) I can still remember the way I would pull the knob out to turn it on, while keeping just a little bit of counterclockwise pressure on it so I wouldn't accidentally turn up the volume and wake up my folks.

The music from the 90s was a nice transition from 80s metal. I still find my 90s fix here on YT.
