An almost forgotten game. The Oilers were lucky to prevail. Sort of a last hurrah for both teams. The last Oilers playoff win ever. And the Jets would be bad for a long time after this. Thanks for the upload!

This was my first season as a football fan. I was 10 and had watched my first game only 2 weeks prior (Dallas at Philly) and loved it and began watching all things football. I saw the second half of this game.

The Jets certainly had their chances in this one. Good case for them getting hosed (neutral fan here) with the bogus McDowell int, plus in the last couple minutes with the missed defensive holding, not stopping the clock with the guy getting sat on, and what could've been a legendarily bad PI call on the Toon drop.

Excellent use of NFL officiating beanbag (TS link may be adjusted so I also saved clip 2:23:34) . Also was used in the 1978 Miracle at the Meadowlands indicate mark of change of possession, not sure why it waant thought of in the same year "Holy Roller" game but that is entertainment!. Tough to spot and Maguire did not see it either ❤

Oilers were very fortunate in the last 2 minutes. First you had White run out of bounds. Next they should've been called for defensive delay of game but got away with an extra 10 seconds off the clock. But then with time running out Toon gets called for a rediculous offensive pass interference and dropped a touchdown. Could you imagine if he catches that and it was taken off the board?

In a way it was fortunate for Toon because without the BS penalty he would probably always be remembered for dropping that pass. O'Brien, who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn most of the game, put that one right on the money and Toon catches that 99 times out of 100.
@comfortat

They were 8-8. Most years, they wouldn't even be IN the playoffs. Besides, Car Toon dropped a perfect pass, so what difference does the penalty make? Apparently, he didn't like to score TDs. 74 catches, no scores??? And that 1st Jets TD in this game was questionable, at best. Neither of these teams had what they call "championship mettle." The Oilers made the playoffs every year, then choked because of that gimmicky Offense, and an undisciplined Defense. Be glad O'Brien and Co. didn't have to go to Denver and get killed the next week. Oh, also... they played 3 teams (4 games) against playoff teams the whole year, and went 1-3 against them. They had the easiest schedule in the whole league. I can see you being upset if they were 14-2 and had a series of bad calls to lose this game, but honestly, this was not a contending Jets team in any way. Peace

@@comfortat Actually the Jets would've gone to Buffalo not Denver due to the fact the Bills were the 1st seed and the Jets were the 6th seed and the 1 seed plays the lowest possible seed in the Divisional Round.

I swear back then that the AFC was the JV League they truly were I mean the Buffalo bills were not they were so far superior to the rest of the AFC I mean it was awful how bad the AFC was for 13 14 years they were just it was like men versus boys when they would play in the super bowl but that's what was crazy about the Buffalo bills is they were not that The bills were every bit as talented as any NFC team they just couldn't beat them in the super bowl but during the regular season they would beat the hell out of these NFC teams but the other AFC teams could not beat them in FC teams I remember Dan Marino's dolphins in 90 being like 9 and 1 and going out and playing the Redskins in RFK and the Redskins were like six and five or five and five and they got beat like 42 to 10 The NFC was just so much better than the AFC it was I don't know how it happened but they just were it's hard for me to take the AFC serious back then when I used to watch these games

Really the NFC East and the 49ners. Those were the only teams going to the SB from 86-95.
