That concept looks so ahead of its time. It's hard for me to grasp it's a 1991 design. Even at the time, most new cars were suffering from the 80s three box design. This was such a radical departure and literally looks like 10 years ahead of its time period. The interior does show its age but the sculptured design looks like a 2000s concept rather than an early 90s. That's why I praise it!

An interesting thing to note is that Chrysler also made a concept called the 300 in 1993. Though this one was more of an LHS prototype and had very little differences with the production LHS.

Great video as always, But FYI that 300m was originally Chrysler's redesigned second-generation LH-car The Eagle Vision for 1998 However, the entire Eagle line was dropped by Chrysler in 1997 prompting a quick rebrand name Chrysler 300M . That's why there's no 1998 300M

i have a 06 5.7 300c aswell. What are your opinions on the more sleek look that your 2014 model has for example? I think they lost much of the "big american luxury" when they slimmed down the front and hood on the newer 300c's. The grille on the earlier models is fat, the newer not so much.

The 300M did not only come in slate gray in the interior. It also came in a very nice light taupe. there was a Pro-Am version with two-tone light taupe and slate gray interior and seats, and the 300M Special has different style leather bucket seats, with a white leather and slate gray, with carbon fiber trim. The special was also an inch lower, had 18" wheels (245x45zr18), a performance dual exhaust, and a more aggressively tuned PCM. The special also removed the top speed limiter. My family has personally owned 3. They are wonderful cars.

Resembles a Panamera. Kinda long tho. The 300M may have been decent, but it just doesn't live up to the promise. With the concept cars that Chrysler was producing, it looks like they were trying to be a major player in the sports luxury market. Had they gone through with these really impressive vehicles with big engines and flashy styling, they would have surpassed plain old Cadillac and Lincoln to compete with Jaguar, Aston Martin and Mercedes. They would have had to drop the regular consumer market to go all in on high end luxury. They might have failed, given the standing and experience of the other brands, so it seems they played it safe and backed out. Also, as you mentioned in another video, they would have been competing with Mercedes, part of Daimler, and that probably swayed the decision. My favorite is the Chronos; it's like a mix of this concept and the 2005 300C. Great videos. SUBBED because I'm binging! lol

@RMTStudios

By the same HP measuring standards used in the 50's (Gross HP v.s. Net HP), the 1999 300M produced well more than 300 HP. The 255 figure is a net figure which accounts for the draw on HP caused by the transmission and accessories. I'm not a mechanic, so I may be wrong, but I read this when I bought the 300M back in 2000 (it had won the 1999 Motor Trend Car of the Year, and I think that was mentioned in the article. By the way, this is a fantastic car. While it is nowhere near as sexy as the C300 Concept was, it was way ahead of it's time when it came out in 1999, and remains, at least in my eyes, a timeless classic design.

@@BamaPewPew sorry, meant as a company, they were on a roll. This was right before they sold out to Daimler Benz. The LX cars were already planned before Daimler insisted on changes which pushed them back, and resulted in the weird release schedule of the LX cars, with the Magnum coming out several months before the Charger and 300C did.
