I was there and it was the most memorable game I ever attended. Just crazy the whole time! It felt like even at the end nobody had left and everyone was screaming just as much as the start of the game. 52-7 and we were cheering for the D and wanting more points! Miss those days

I was there. And it was the loudest most rowdy Husker crowd in the history of Memorial Stadium. Anybody that disagrees with that was not there. It was so loud that CU QBs had to move around in the huddle and yell the the plays to the other players in the huddle. And there was no letup between plays. And what was amazing was it was as loud and raucous at the end of the game as at the start even though the game was well in hand. It was dark, it was misty, it was a little foggy and it was Halloween night. It was beyond wild. It was bloodlust turned loose.

Absolutely sick how dominant Nebraska's pass rush was during this game. And that was with just the front 4 of Trev Alberts, Travis Hill, Johnny Parella, and Terry Conneally. Would be curious to know how many sacks and QB hurries were forced by those 4.

This game here was really the beginning of the greatest run in college football history that led to the three national championships that should have been five national championships in a row it started in this night Nebraska showed what was getting ready to happen to the rest of college football for the next 5 years in this game
@davidk6269

@@BruceWayne-ri4wr It was indeed a peek at the dominant Husker teams that would dominate the the mid- to late- 1990's. 5 national championships in a row? I agree that the 1993 squad could have won the championship against FSU that season. They won it during the '94, '95 and '97 seasons. However, the 19-0 pounding that the '96 Nebraska squad suffered against ASU IMHO prevents any reasonable argument that they should have been national champs. That game really broke my heart--I still remember agonizing during the entire game watching Jake "The Snake" Plummer end the Husker undefeated streak. I really miss those days. GBR!

@@davidk6269 The voice text messed up what I was actually saying I know they lost the Florida State in '93 but did they lose if you watch that game they dominated that game so many bad calls against them what I mean is they should have won that game and in '96 if they get that fourth down if they stop Texas on 4th down despite losing to Arizona State they would have played for the national championship again if they had beaten Texas and they would have been playing Florida and you know Florida wanted no part of them lol after what had happened the year before so that's why I say they were literally just a bounce of the ball away from winning five titles in a row
@BruceWayne-ri4wr

@@davidk6269 yeah the Arizona State game broke me too but look at the scores those games the rest of that season they were absolutely demolishing people after that and then they went into that big 12 title game against Texas and if they had just won that game more than likely they're playing for the national championship again by the way things ended up playing out and it just wasn't meant to be you can't win three in a row but they wanted to get a 97 which is all that matters

Tough day for Koy ("The Chew Toy") Detmer. IMHO the Buffs should have stayed with their power/option offense and not gone to their pass-happy attack. The Buffs seemed to lose some of their swagger and edge when they moved away from the physicality of their run-first offense.
