Bless the algorithm! Your channel got suggested to me on my feed and I’m always looking for new Honda content! New subscriber here from the UK! It’s so crazy to see a civic over 300k that isn’t rusting to pieces. Over here in the UK you’ve got low mileage examples that are in terrible condition because of the months of salt we get and rain! Loving your content and awesome to see the episode end with the k swap news. I’m currently k swapping my civic too and documenting it! Love your cat aha. Keep up the good work and I’ll check out the next episodes on this!

Nice video! I've just done a k swap on my EG civic which i bought during lockdown here in Australia. Never been into Hondas but they are are so easy to work on and with the K24 it actually goes like a cut snake! Cant wait to see how the vtec killer setup goes. I was recently reading up on it and am considering it for a future project.

Yea I regret going with red on the calipers. I do like the badges :) I actually rebuilt the stock calipers and painted them black but the piston cylinders we were just too pitted so I didn’t use them. I agree I should have gone with black or silver on the replacements. Thanks for checking it out! 👊

Very cool VX. The original D15Z1 is a great little engine for efficiency if that's your thing. People drive them 600K miles. My son has a 94 and with commuting we could go 10K miles between oil changes because it doesn't get dirty very quickly. It's not slow because it had a lot of miles, that's just how they are. :-) But 45 - 50 mpg on the freeway.
@RatherBeRestoring

Thanks for checking out the video! It was painfully slow before the swap but with these gas prices it’d probably be worth more with the D15 still in it! :)

Dude!!! Nice fucking work. You went ape shit on that clean EG. Definitely my favorite civic. Had a 1994 Si. Loved that car. Go B series swap. K series is nice but B is period correct and tons of huge builds on that older motor!!!
@RatherBeRestoring
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! I think I may have went a bit overboard on this one. Same here, EG has a special place in my heart, hatch, couple, sedan, all of them. I strongly considered going B series but the deal I got on the 02’ complete RSX I couldn’t pass it up.

That car reminds me of the 96 hatch i had with a d16y7... which was my second civic with that motor. I could barely get up steep hills with that car. Anyone who knows that hill up to yucca valley ca knows what im talking about. I had to downshift a couple gears and cross my fingers lol
@RatherBeRestoring

Exactly! There aren’t a lot of hills in Texas but a simple freeway overpass would show me how little torque this thing had!

Great job! I just looked at your post. Q&A what was the paint you used again on the hardware the color and brand? Thanks in advance for your input. I have a up coming front and rear up grade myself on EG9 26yrs old :(:::
@RatherBeRestoring
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking it out! The grey color that I used on the trailing arms, brake backing plate, knuckles, etc. was Rustoleum (metallic charcoal) which is almost a perfect match to the Ktuned grey. The black that I used on the brake booster and a few other random parts was VHT (flame proof - flat black sp102). For the wheels I used VHT (wheel paint - ford argent silver sp188). Hope that helps. 👊

It was just under 4k but that was before the used market went crazy..I’ve been seeing them for crazy prices like that too (6k +) when they’re clean...IMO if they’re rusty just wait for the next one
