Kenneth Kendall meets Oliver Postgate, who - with Peter Firmin - ran Smallfilms, the animation team behind some of the best-loved children's shows in British television history. Ivor the Engine, Pogles Wood, Noggin the Nog, The Clangers and Bagpuss all sprang from the fecund imaginations of Postgate and Firmin. Oliver has kindly brought some of his characters into the studio with him, including the Soup Dragon, Professor Yaffle, some mice from the mouse organ, Mr and Mrs Pogle, and Bagpuss.
They are joined by Anna Home - the head of BBC Children's TV - who shares her hopes for the future of children's television.
