Thing that just dawned on me is that the tenorline had 2 rookie tenor drummers in Sean Vega and Camden McConnell. Sean’s main drum as snare up to BD, in fact auditioned for snare when he tried out for BD for the 94 season. Camden played top bass for SCV 1992-93.

Really dumb question, I have been watching vintage DCI videos lately. Was Moeller stroke like a bad thing? Why do they look stiff compared to modern day movements? Nonetheless amazing percussionist all of them.
@hallrc

Partly because it’s easier to clean and get everyone to use a more uniform technique. Each corps/drumline had some variations, but that was very typical for decades: lower interior notes, higher accents. Also, this was when the internet was still in it’s infancy, KZitem and social media didn’t exist, corps’ websites were extremely basic. So, unless you knew people in the drum corps scene that could teach you, there was very little exposure to it, other than if you mached, went to a show, recorded the PBS broadcasts (depending on where you lived, it may air only once, if at all) or bought the video cassettes. A few websites were dedicated to the activity-someone called Gridit had a really good one for that time, with a lot of sound files from 90’s lines. It may not look like much to a lot of younger people, but these old videos are gems-I wish that I could have experienced them when I was younger.
