replacement gas tank and honda01lx on the youtube sighting. check out himself on the youtube,,, please like subscribe and comment, it helps kmcleish out big times
Mine is in the shop right now getting this done. Mighty pricey, and I wasn't equipped to do the job:-(. I am glad I didn't try it myself, the bracket you pointed to was rusted out so badly they had to replace it, plus the fuel lines going to the fuel pump were badly rusted. Originally I was just going to replace the tank, but now I am changing out the whole works. The good part of that is that my old war wagon will rumble down the highway hopefully another 100K miles (she's got over 200 on her now). They are good solid trucks and they are absolute tanks in the snow!

Not a fun "shade tree" project in below zero weather. I let my trusty mechanic handle this one, he is far better equipped. I've had to change a tranny in the middle of January on the curb (was in college). I swore I'd never do that again- that was on an old 76' Ford Grenada I had at the time (back in the early 90's).

Doing this today and looks like I might have to pull my driveshaft too. I had to replace my sending unit because the old lines were destroyed trying to get them apart, figures. I had cut a hatch years ago in the bed to replace fuel pump so at least I can get to all that easily. Was wondering whether or not to install new sender before mounting tank but seeing as you did that made me go with that route. Thanks for vid, it helped.

Doing this right now. Nice thing is the one metal thing that has the strap you used a single bolt on comes off easily with just 4 bolts.

I’m trying to figure out if I’m ‘98 k1500 will have enough room for a 34 gallon tank. Came with the 25 but she rusted through so I figured for the extra $10 see if I can fit a 34 gallon tank. If anyone could help me out I’d highly appreciate it

I've got the same truck. she is rusty to beat hell and the sender unit was wrecked trying loosen it's rusty, fused together connectors. I really don't like the tank strap situation. I'll probably wind up doing what McLeish did and grind down the rivets and put a bolt thru. That sure seems like a hack job but what choice do they give us? I got no rivets nor the pop rivet tool nor have I ever used one nor will I buy one just for this. Not cool gm.
