I had the non-turbo version of this, same year, same color. I loved it. I drove it for 17 years until it got a terminal case of the rusties which couldn’t be fixed. I’m still kinda pissed that no one mentioned the frame was getting holes until it was too late, despite getting inspected every year here in New Hampshire. They couldn’t tell me it was starting to have issues when it could still be fixed? My only two complaints about the car is that it doesn’t have cupholders (weird) and the roof is ridiculously complex to operate. My ‘84 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce’s roof could be raised and lowered one-handed while driving. This one requires a second key and running around the car to latch it. But still, great fun to drive and the lines are perfect. It’s just a great-looking little car. This one looks amazing. The price is great.

Feels like a really good price for a jump in and go roadster that's been refreshed. Alas, I've got 5-6 months of crappy weather coming up - now for those of you with garages......

You got me on this one. As I clicked on it to look closer I already knew what it was. But a last year build with much better details and that Mazda engine makes so much sense! I was thinking how doofy this car was. But I quickly changed my mind as you went around it. It’s soooo orphan, and as usual very surprising, especially the price!

I believe ford called this colour calypso. Ford had another colour at the time called reef blue.

Correct. It's looks exactly like Calypso. Mercury just wanted to be different I guess. They called it Reef Green.

You can use late 80s 323s and tracers to source front suspension, steering and brake components. The engine is the the same as the 323 gtx awd turbo so you can turn up boost until the transmission or traction gives up the ghost. I have a 94 non turbo but because the engine is identical less the turbo induction and engine management you can basically treat it as an early Miata 1.6 and build your own turbo kit...

I don't know about these later versions, but the initial Capri's had horrible quality control issues and were extremely under-powered...when compared to the agile MX-5

Roadsters should never come with an automatic, or front wheel drive. I know this is a cabriolet, but, still. Even AWD would be preferable.

Way over book value even taking into consideration its mileage and history.
