I was too! 1500 husky fans lost their minds and it was an amazing comeback. That interception after the half was awesome. I actually can’t recall if it was an interception or a punt return, but it was immediately in the opening of the second half. I would have to watch the game all over again, I was 14 years old. It was an epic win!! The crazy part was walking out of the stadium after winning because a lot of the Huskies fans soon realized the victory cheers were not very welcomed, and once they became aware they were in downtown Miami, it progressively got more quiet once you got out of the stadium. I was celebrating, whooping and shouting happily because it was amazing. We were walking behind the stadium chairs on our way out, and my brother smacked me in the back of my head and told me to shut the F up. Hurt like hell and I was pissed but then I understood why.

UW alum here. I was in the Peace Corps in West Africa when I received the news from my older brother than UW knocked off Miami at Miami! I was ecstatic. Dawgs really took over the game in the second half. Hedges getting rid of Lambright was a very stupid move. And UW football was never the same after Don James and Jim Lambright. Even though this was Jim's team the defense against Miami so much looked like vintage Don James football.

I remember I told a friend of mine that I was going to record this because something told me the Dawgs were going to upset Miami, just a gut feeling. That's probably the ONLY sensible comment I've yet seen from a Miami Hurricanes fan. That Larry Coker was a bad coach for you guys. How that nimrod ever won a national championship is beyond me. I guess the 'canes had so much talent when he was the coach that even HE couldn't screw things up enough. Miami football still sucks pretty badly relatively speaking, though, considering how much talent the state of Florida supposedly turns out every year.

Sure that game cost Miami a title in '00, but if I recall correctly, UW was also a 1-loss team that got shafted that year as well. You are right about Erickson, he has had plenty of coaching oppurtunities (both college and pro), and has been mediocre. As for the 65-7 game, this game was supposed to be earlier in the year, and trying to get up for a non-conference team a week after the Apple Cup is pretty tough. The Huskies still may have lost, but the 65-7 score doesn't really indicate the 2 teams talent. Case in point, UW beat Miami the year before. Dorsey sucked then and now,

"The only reason why Miami won so much was because they played the weakest schedules, even for an independent team." I love it when people just make things up out of thin air. No stats or truth to back it up. Then canefamily comes along and posts the ranked teams that Miami beat in their title years and kukulcan12's nonsense is blown to pieces. Miami's schedule when they were an independent stacks up against anybody's schedule, anywhere, anytime.

@getyoasshome And which consensus All American on that Nebraska defense was overrated? All four of the defensive linemen were consensus AAs in their career. Their stats were deceptive because so many times during the season the scout teamers were getting playing time in blowouts. Ask Steve Superior if their defense was overrated. Nobody came close to shutting them down but Nebraska's D absolutely stuffed them. They were held to nearly 300 yards and 30 points under their average.
