Great video! Learned a new way of bench bleed. I have a 98 k1500. Always spongy brakes, even after I replaced master cylinder. Can I put a 2500 master cylinder on to get firmer brake pedal? Or would it not make a difference? Thanks

Thanks. These OBS trucks never had the super stiff hair trigger kind of brakes you find on the newer generations, even when brand new. But you shouldn't be having a lot of ineffective travel (pedal moves but brakes do not immediately respond in kind), or problems with the pedal traveling too far or not fully returning back. Most problems where it works, but doesn't _feel_ quite right, are going to be improved with power bleeding and flushing out old tired fluid in the process. That would include using a scan tool to activate an automated bleed on the ABS unit in later year models. This video might help - kzitem.info/news/bejne/lZx_04meqYl6l4o

Another great video. After bleeding and installing the new MC, do you need to bleed the ABS? Or just go straight to each wheel? Thanks

Thanks. Yeah, it should be re-bled as air has entered the ABS unit during this procedure. I mentioned this near the end and linked a video in the upper right corner (little _i_ in a white circle icon) I did awhile back that walks thru power bleeding.

i always watch your videos, great stuff. This time maybe i can reduce your mess or the risk of. Do the "benchbleed" in the car. Simply put the things together with the right torques but dont connect the brakelines, then install your "benchbleed" tools and do the job with the brakepedal. Depending of the space in the car, it could be extremly difficult to install the prefilled mastercylinder. With my version its more safe and cleaner and the risk of further corrosion is much lower. please excuse my spongy english, its not my first language
