I have a 92 camry with 325,000 miles. About to have the timing belt, water pump, seals, & belt tensioners changed. About a $700 fix. Never been in the shop and still runs like new! I should be able to get 500,000 out of it very easily.

I have a 1996 Toyota Camry LE 4-Cyl Wagon. Bought it a year ago w/ 160k miles. Has 175k on it now. Timing belt broke @ 174k. Had it changed along w/ water pump for $450. No other problems. Took on a 2,000 mile trip and got 31 M{G!!! Gets high 20's around town. The 4-Cyl is by far the better motor. Great car for the $2100 I paid for it.

I have a 93 Camry and it has damn near 300,000 miles. Only ever had 1 major repair on it and it was some sort of electrical switch a few years ago. Haven't had a problem since. It looks shitty now because my dad has destroyed the paint job, etc. that I had spent money to fix it up, but it runs well. Camrys are the shit!

I watched this a bunch of times when I was first learning to drive, and thinking about buying this gen Camry for myself. I can't help but wonder 8 years later where this car is, how it's doing. What Mr. Epolito is up to now. You know, weird stuff like that. But thank you for the vid.

724,230 miles on my 1995 Camry. The engine is bullet proof solid, outlasting cars more new and technologicaly advanced.

@joewillgo It is basically a gear within the transmission that will cause the driveshaft to turn at a quicker rate than the engine. This aids in improving fuel economy. When you hear of a 4 speed transmission w/Overdrive the overdrive is actually a 5th gear. Best used at highway speeds. You turn off overdrive when in the mountains or pulling a heavy load so that you can have the maximum power and torque of the motor. Hope this helps!!

I laughed so hard when he mentioned how fuel efficient it is. I've got a 93 5sfe camry and it gets about 18 mpg city 21 highway. About the same as my 91 Chevy blazer.

We had a Camry like this a few years back. The only reason we traded it in was because this car was close to failing CA smog check. These Camrys have to be tested at special test-only stations because of high pollution content. Ours had 188K at trade-in.

@miltonautosales actually you are wrong, the overdrive is the 4th gear. example, if you turn off the overdrive button the transmission will shift down to third gear, and it will hold there as long as you want to. When you turn on the overdrive the transmission will shift to 4th gear.

@CBZED101 You're right. My dad bought his because he thought it would get great gas mileage. He obviously didn't do his research.

@countryboyG If all you're doing is local driving then there shouldn't be an issue. Camry's are great cars. Hopefully the maintenance was just as well tended to as the cosmetics.

My 1994 Toyota Camry V6 with almost 300K miles still runs better(quieter, smoother and powerful) then my buddy's 2009 Honda Accord LX with only 70K miles. BUILT TOYOTA TOUGH. I plan on keeping this Camry for another ten years(not joking)
