Great stock looking stuck. Still prefer the mountain hatch rear tailgate cover to the carpet. sweet build

@mnshttnt nailed it! The center console came out of a Dodge Charger. Almost plug and play, but did require some modifications.

My guess is lincoln navigator console I own a 1995 fj-80, just got it. It's rough shape now, but I'm mechanically slowly bringing it to life. If I ever decide to complete rebuild it I'll keep y'all in mind.

The charger console is fascinating. Got me wondering if I had the ingenuity to make that work.

I have two questions: why the LS swap seems to be a popular mid instead of using the OEM engine and supercharge it? The second question is why not put the later TOYOTA v8 engines from cars such as Toyota Tundra?

Have you seen availability for any of the factory OEM engines and transmissions? Lots of parts NLA. They can buy a brand new LS3 and 6L80e from Chevrolet. Swapping in Toyota engines and transmissions require a lot more trickery to get working (i.e. electrical engineering / computer engineering / computer programming) to get the modules working. Most shops don't actually have those kinds of skills.

I believe Ward himself said something like trying to allocate Toyota crate motors was much more difficult than the plentiful GM crate options that also had warranties. on top of the already wide aftermarket support for the LS and LT motors that helps ease the swap into these Toyota chassis, parts availability is simply more available for the American V8 and any mechanic worth their salt can work on a chevy V8 as for the first question, it's literally not worth the time and money to look for an older OE supercharger, rebuild it and install it along with the old OE motor. as well as the money to performance also wouldn't be worth it. to get base LS3 power from the supercharged OE SC engine would be astronomical when a chevy V8 already has that power and a GM trans can handle it just fine.

Yeah it’s a dodge brand console. I’ve seen them in the 2015 generation model chargers

All that work to only put in a non Toyota engine is weird to me. It makes a Land Cruiser not a Land Cruiser. Plus those made in china aftermarket wheels look like they belong on a jeep. Oem all day. No factory lockers too? Not my money.

I did think it was kind of weird he glossed over the wheels to not mention the brand. Looks like Mickey Thompson which is a classic choice, but based on the centercap from the brief look I'm going to guess they are ION 171. But didn't mention the wheel size or actual tire size. Just the vague 33" sizing. Maybe they were embarrassed by the wheels.

Every Icon product for the last decade + has had an LS. Lighter weight, more power, better mileage, less emissions. It would be more expensive and less maintainable to put a Toyota 4.7 or 5.7 in, and for no benefit over an LS. It hasn't been weird for a long time.
