Well. this was fun...NOT!
Haven't done a ton of shock jobs and never on a jag.
In hindsight, after learning by trial-by-error on his job, it really wouldnt be very hard to do a front end shock and or shock mount replacement on these cars. At least not for the regular suspension. The air ride assist version i am not familiar with. But i bet THAT model might suck.
My take awa- if i had to do this again, i would defintely spend the extra money and buy the whole shock mount instead of just the bushings. Not talking a ton of money or difference in price surprisngly.
Also, due to inexperience and focusing on filming at same tme i m Ssed checking the basics like how the KYB shocks had a different thread pattern than the ones i replaced. Didnt help that the kyb ones didnt come woth a twenty cent nut to make things easy. I would probably slurge a little bit mre and buy Bilsteins instead. Especially if i was planning on keepng the car for any length of time. Unfortnately i ddnt cheap ths car long as had too many cars and was gunshy about the transmission going out at any time based on what i read about these "non-servicable lifetme" trannys. Plus i really would prefer a vanden plas for the extra rear room.
In an unrelated note, dont wait over a year to get around to editing a video. You tend to forget what you were doing and pointing at sometimes, making it harder to properly edit and explain what was at the time obvious but later on not quite so much.
