Haha! Hilarious 😆 (especially the seats) Every kid should have a gator to learn to drive in! Maybe my grandkids will get instructional use of it too!

Thanks for the Friday - April Fools laughs! Love the ear protection & gloves! Everything you need to know about a Gator, with details only you could cover! Man that things moves out for one cylinder! Awww man- you learned to drive on it - that's very cool. Had to be fun growing up on a farm. Best of luck on your last semester James!

You're very welcome! I'm glad you liked the protective equipment I was wearing haha. I tried to find a hard hat for the video but couldn't get one... Oh well, maybe next time 😁 Thank you, Jim!!!

My 4x2 gator is in almost show-room shape, compared to the abuse this one has received. Sad to see the gator in such terrible shape, but they are like a tank.. just keep going and going. Very faithful construction and engine.

It may look like crap but you can't kill those things. They are truly a simple machine that just works. There is a reason they still make them and the 6x4 variant.

So true!! We've been so hard on this little guy for almost twenty years and it just keeps on going. Heck, it's probably going to outlive every other vehicle we own lol. Thanks for watching the video!

I bought one new in 1997, that thing is super reliable! I bought a Canam defender recently with the idea of selling my gator, but man it is so easy to use and the bed is at the right height

I thought you were just practicing being enthusiastic and positive, then thought maybe this was the first vehicle of its type that you had ever seen, either way i made it to the end, and love how you memorialized your childhood atv, that's cool and I can relate.

I remember driving my John Deere Gator all around my yard when I was like 5 years old and it's broke down like 4 years ago so I just started fixing it

A very different sort of review for you! Looking forward to seeing more reviews later in the year as your time allows. I wonder if there’s any chance you could get a hold of a 1967 (or thereabouts) Cadillac coupe Deville? Probably could fit the Gator into the trunk of that thing!

That's for sure haha. I'll be sure to make as many videos as possible once summer arrives 😁 And we'll see about that! It's hard to find particular classic models to review but if I get ahold of a 67 coupe Deville I'll certainly do a video on it. And that's a great point, the trunks certainly seem big enough lol! Thank you for watching the video, Ross!

The fenders don't go all the way forward because they would get crushed on anything you approached closely. They are open to increase your approach angle.

That gator has seen better days. By far the gator is the worse item produced by John Deere especially the 6 wheel diesel version.

I have a 1997 4x2, and yes they aren’t much more than a glorified wheel barrow, lol , but I have used the heck out of it and it has ran great. Mine is a lil better shape but not much better. They want like over $1100 for a replacement hood and fenders smh
