@@carapprentice Someone mentioned to me these RLs have electrical issues? Is that accurate? Also, it wasn’t a very popular car and parts are hard to find for it.
@carapprentice

@@bobb9278 I've never had electrical issues with the RL, nor have I known them to have major electrical issues. The dash is a failure point in some model years. OEM body and interior components are not always easy to find, but I can usually acquire replacement mechanical parts without much trouble. It takes a little resourcefulness sometimes.

I was going to do a video this past summer, but I never got to it. I stored the factory service manual here if you need it: www.mediafire.com/file/uvbmryok1ax4vbs/Acura_RL_-_Factory_Service_Manual_%25281996-2004%2529.zip/file

wow ive owned 4 rl over the years and never knew about the drain cap or bleed screw on this car.. thx can you make a video on fixing the leak into the fuse box.. there was a bulletin but not a recall.. rain wreaks havoc everytime.... shorts everything from the alarm to injectors to gauges... bulletin said remove dr fender and silicone all around where wires go through into cabin.

Hmm, I'd never heard of this issue until you mentioned it: Service Bulletin B98-028. I stored the factory service manual here if you want to attempt it on your own - might be awhile before I do some digging: www.mediafire.com/file/uvbmryok1ax4vbs/Acura_RL_-_Factory_Service_Manual_%25281996-2004%2529.zip/file

@@carapprentice i printed out the bulletin but havnt gotten around to tearing into it.. spent almost $1000 replacing injectors and chasing gremlins during one rainy season no mechanic could figure out why random injectors and coils stopped working then were ok... then again.. even the dealer told me to just replace everything for $5500...he didnt know about the bulletin even. it was easier to just move to AZ where it rains 5 days a year...lol

Can you do a video on changing the thermostat? Or where to find it please?😅
@carapprentice

If you follow the lower radiator hose to the engine, it's attached to the thermostat's housing.

When I open it in Acrobat, links appear to various sections. This one may work better for you: www.manualslib.com/manual/1271649/Acura-3-5-Rl.html

Hey man. i know its late but i just got myself a 98 Legend. What exactly is this white reservoir tank near the battery? Is it just overflow from the coolant? Mine was really almost empty but the radiator was full of coolant...is that bad?
@carapprentice

The reservoir ensures that the cooling system doesn't run low on coolant. I would fill it to the max line and periodically check it; it should rarely need to be topped off. If the coolant level drops quickly, you most likely have a leak in the system.

Bank 2 is the driver's side. Cylinders 1, 2, and 3 are on the passenger's side, and cylinders 4, 5, and 6 are on the driver's side.
