1999-2003 Acura TL and 2001-2003 Acura CLS are gem some of the best Acura's ever made. I'm on my 2nd Acura CLS with 265k miles still drives and performs like a champ.

Thank you for posting this wonderful tribute to such a great time in Honda history. Rest in peace Ayrton Senna.. I've owned my 99 Acura TL production number 6043 for over 5 years,with a 02 Acura cl Type S engine and 6 speed manual transmission as well as 4-piston calipers from the RL have made my TL a completely personalized driving machine. It's kind of crazy this is the only car that I still look back at every time I walk away from it and smile...

Just bought a 1999 Acura 3.2 TL with less than 70,000 miles on it. No issues except an airbag recall. Has been serviced by Acura to this day. Paid $1000, owner just had it sitting in the driveway, minor paint damage (no rust)

That's a good attitude my friend. Just remember like all Hondas you can take parts from the Accord models and some of the newer RL stuff and create yourself a competitive shopping car
@Darksyne

That's why this particular gen of TL the parts are so cheap because some of them interchange with the Accord V6 and both cars sold extremely well and with the car being fairly easy to work on, no need to get rid of it! I also make videos of my TL so you can see how my ownership progress has been! :)

This is one of my favorite 90s/00s interiors from Honda/Acura. I wish I would have had the chance to own one, but I’ve heard too many horror stories about the transmission. It’s too bad because it was a stunner and still looks great. If only it was offered with a manual, it would have been a home run.

It's a love hate relationship, There's not much interior room, the brakes feel kind of spongy/soft. Tires are too narrow. Takes long time to heat up it's cold blooded. Transmission feels harsh. Rims are ugly. Clearcoat is fading. Gas mileage isn't good. But it's so fun to drive it revs to around 7,000 and I took the intake resonator out so it sounds really cool, when I first got it in Mexico I went 135mph no problem. And it's been pretty reliable I beat on it and it still carries on.

Too bad the steering wheel is so far away from the driver with no telescoping adjustment and the transmission is horrible. HORRIBLE!
@Darksyne
6 жыл бұрын
Just move the seat closer. Yeah no telescoping feature is a bummer but not the end of the world. I just wished it had an aux jack and if you change the transmission fluid every year if you got the redesigned transmission installed from the recall then you'll have one of the most reliable cars you'll ever own. Minus the fuel tank rusting out and Honda wrapping the subframe around it if you want to replace the tank >.>
