“Dodge made a little mistake!” Ha, love it! You’re right. Same issue with 2001 Ram 1500. Took 3 days to dry out the carpet with a fan!Removed the blower motor and reached my fingers inside the box and pulled out a pound of pine needles and leaves! Then had to treat floorboard for some rust spots! This is why cabin filters are needed on vehicles, particularly trucks. But this one didn’t have one. Also, thanks for the 1/2 inch heater hose tip! It worked and so far, it’s draining properly! Excellent video, really helped me!!!

Thank you so very much for this video. My drain was completely plugged. I was able to probe it and get it to drain completely. I felt vulnerable to being scammed by auto repair people & you saved my day.

Makes perfect sense to me, I was even thinking of a tube with a 90 degree bend on it. So if we can make this work with perfect sense, why didn’t the Dodge engineers think of that? Hmmm, Maybe it’s more money in comeback service.

Thanks for the video. Have noticed for couple weeks my passages side floor wet on my 99 ram, thought I might have a leak around the door with all the rain we have been having but Havnt been able to find a leak. I hope this tube is just stopped up and I don't have to remove the dash to fix the problem.

Thank you. Noticed the “wet spot” on the driveway had moved back from the engine firewall area yesterday after I parked after work. Then tonight before KISS concert, I noticed passenger floor soaking wet! Mines a 2001 1500 I hope this fixes it, I’ll try tomorrow. Thank you!! I’m in Arkansas.

Thank you very much!! I also tore all the interior out of my truck and caulked around that drain. You don’t have to tear out all of the interior to do this but I’m also replacing the the sound detoning because it had black mold all over it.

I put a 6" hose on the tube and cut it at an angel leave with the ground, works great sucks it right out going down the road. when you stop you will find a nice wet spot where you park. thxs much waynes 355!

Yup, mine had mud or leaf mulch stuck in it, used a straw to dislodge it and the crystal clear water gushed out, must have been carrying half a liter of water in there. My problem is I park at an incline so the water can’t escape after running A/C. Not sure if that fixed it entirely or too early to tell, still have warm air coming out vents.

The water actually absorbs back into the firewall matting and soaks and drips onto the floorboard. Run it long enough and both sides will get water from saturation. I found that air flow was not really the issue, but the friction to flow rate was too high to allow the water to drip off the tube. I watched it roll back under the tube and contact the absorbent matting. I added a 2 inch pointed tube to the end of the factory tube and cured the problem as well. What a lame design issue.

I have a 2002 Ram 2500. The drain tube is very short and it drains through the firewall. The rubber seal had dried over the years which allowed the water to blow back against the firewall. That being said the water is blown back into the cab of the truck under the floor covering. I applied silicone around the drain tube to the firewall. Problem is now over. I also extended the tube. Also thanks for the info.

Gonna try this today. I also seen a video where a guy added blue RTV sealant around the base of the tube. Mine drains but I believe its running down the bottom of the tube and back into the firewall. Thanks for the video and tip, gonna try 'er out...
