I took a needlenose plier and clamped it right under the PCV valve, stablizing the large flexible tubing beneath as I wiggled it loose. I did this after disconnecting both of the smalled tubes from the engine as you've shown us. Thanks for this helpful video as I didn't even know what or where the effin thing was!

I have a 2002 Explorer XLT 4 wheel drive V6 4.0 L u approach driver side fender reach behind valve cover by firewall at rear of valve cover. Turn counterclockwise 1/4 turn pull out along with short pre bent pcv hose from right top cover looking at it and it runs to pvc valve. Good Hunting

I wish the video was more organized ... a lot of repetitive crap said over and over. I know it's a tight fit and know where it is ... but how do you GET to it. After 16 grueling minutes, I think he was trying to say "you have to sit on top of the engine to get to it". Wish he'd have annotated the video with a post production tool to show in the video what dark and dirty part was the PCV unit. Probably could have been a 2 minute video.

U need to at least use the plastic one due to u having to put it n and turn it clockwise 1/4 turn to seat can't use a metal smooth type pvc valve it won't seat u will suck air get lean codes and under the worst condition blow seals and gaskets out enuff for oil leaks so b careful about saving a buck

I believe the 1/4 turn pcm valves are the later explorer engines, on the 99’ it literally just pushes into a hose at the back of the manifold not on the valve cover like the later model
