I followed your advice to practice along with a Strobo-Tuner. IT WORKS GREAT!

I consider myself as "starting over", because I have stopped practicing for 1 year (when the last piece I played was Minuet from Suzuki book 1 and the weak pinky finger had stopped me). The quarantine time makes me think about starting everything from scratch one more time. Last week I watched all of your videos again and started to do the holding pencil and left hand exercises. The lifting exercise from this new video has just been added to my "work-out" list. I will keep doing this for one more week before I really play the violin again, with the hope of becoming a better violinist than I used to be. But one thing I feel proud of myself, is that I almost never experienced the pain while practicing, and holding the bow correctly from very first day (the teacher told me that), by following your previous videos. It also took me a lot of time for the shoulder rest and chin rest (they cost me the same price as the violin because I don't live in US and had to order it from overseas). Thank you for your effort of making this video and the 1b lesson.

You are an inspiration. And by the way, the Minuet by Bach/Petzold sheet music, accompaniment and example is already uploaded at The Romantic School of Music .com and the lesson will be coming soon! When I was in the Suzuki school of music I considered this to be the first "real" song/piece. = Do it!

Why does a person's fingers muscles tend to cramp up when he or she tries to hold the bow correctly?
