When it they paint it, do they actually inspect it to make sure the finish is perfect? Or are they like "It's going to get shot at anyway, it does not matter if the paint is not perfect".

Forgive my choice of words it's an ugly but yet still beautiful aircraft gotta love the Apache! My dad worked for McDonald Douglas for I believe it was 34 years that was one of their projects along with numerous fighter aircraft, the dc-9 the DC-10 that kc-10 God I miss McDonnell Douglas at least Boeing took over there technology.

from what i understand, most probably most avionic systems have been carefully integrated ,tested certified to be interoperating to Mil spec standards for the apache of a particular block.Maybe its not compatible with anothe block from a certification point of view, and a customer should buy from a particular block for a packaged turnkey solution.

So the final production Block III has the standard cyclic and not sidestick & digital FBW AFCS with attitude commanding like on the Comanche and Cobra Zulu? That's surprising. Is the SAC and synthetic vision system still planned for Block IV?

It wasn't just a cool idea, it was a proven platform.....problem is, some Congressmen thought it a threat to their states contracts of the Apache, and so they lobbied to close it down.....what a waste! because it is better than the Apache in every aspect.

We don't need to fly an armor and fight or defend ourselves...just walk or cycle and we'll see a lot of things will change in a year. A decrease in fuel consumption, food production will be less, minimal pollution, stressful life will be reduced, war is avoided and the inner beauty of our surroundings will be much appreciated. The world will again become a huge place to explore and be free of war, money and lust for power. Free spirit simple life will free us from the slavery of wealth.

I always thought the Apache was kinda effeminate next to a Cobra. Looks like a flying compromise, put together by a gee whiz modeler. Give me a cobra with an ex army ground pounder WO at the controls. When you see a Snake pilot leaning out the window, and firing his 45 at the enemy, it kinda makes you smile a bit.
