I think you undervalue security effects that add the card to your hand. Its essentially draw a card. Card advantage is good. Especially on a card like dimension scissor where you can destroy your opponents board. I know you'd rather play a the card with the security skill, but some cards would be useless/too good that way haha. Could be no security at all even!

Horn Blaster is pretty good, if it comes as a security card it rest 1of the opponents digimon and add it to your hand. Next it's your turn, you play it for the low price of 1 memory and add 3000 DP to 1 of your digimon. Seems like a pretty good card

You know, GranKuwagamon has ALWAYS been a top favorite Digimon of mine (especially *GrandisKuwagamon)* and just when I thought I was already very happy with how good GranKuwagamon is as a Digimon card, out comes his signature move aka "Dimension Scissor" and makes me even x10 happier! Imagine playing this on a *Piercing* Digimon, now THAT would be AMAZING! :D

with a lilymon as it's evo source, it can attack make something rest, destroy something, get the pierce, attack the now resting digimon, make something rest, keep that loop going until you win, unless you have a security card like terra force to stop it or literally omnimon and nothing else you lose

Dimension Scissor makes Grankuwagamon super ridiculous. A hidden function that it actually has is that it can actually help protect your Digimon as well. Green Digimon tend to be a little bit weaker than others at the same level, at least when compared to Red and sometimes Blue, so by doing what Green likes to do and attacking your opponent's resting Digimon, you're usually putting them in danger of being attacked and destroyed as well. But with Dimension Scissor you not only have the option to go nuts on your opponent's board, but you can also just leave your Digimon active to protect it after it destroys one of your opponent's.

Dimension scissor plus any digimon with piercing is what makes it broken. Then it turns the card into security +x and a board wipe all your opponent's digimon woth bp of x or less all at once. Not mention you can go active to swing for game with 1 digimon.

I think your over rating security effects since you cant control what goes to your security, like imagine if in pokemon you dedicated a slot in your deck to hope it becomes a prize card. The only deck i could justify possibly considering a bad card with good security effects is in yellow decks focusing on recovery once they get enough tools for that to make it a viable strategy

I speak Japanese and can confirm that Dimension Scissor is not limited to once per turn, but if it was it would be terrible. To be honest, as is it has nice blowout potential but is not a "broken" card. Let's look at why. So Dimension Scissor is dependent on a very specific board state in order to be good. It requires that the opponent has multiple digimon. It requires those digimon to be resting. It requires your attacking digimon to be higher power than them, bearing in mind that green digimon tend to be lower power than red and blue digimon. It requires that the opponent doesn't have a blocker big enough to beat your attacker. If any of the above are not true, Dimension Scissor becomes a mediocre to completely dead card. Now obviously, there are situations where it is very good, if you have a high power digimon with piercing like GranKuwagamon in play, the card can do some pretty nuts things, but that is a big 'if', it relies on you drawing both GranKuwagamon, and Dimension Scissor, and getting safely getting GranKuwagamon onto the field, in a situation where the opponent cannot interfere, all at the same time. You might say "Well, I'll run 4 Dimension Scissor in order to maximise my chances of drawing it in that situation", but then you have the problem of having 4 cards in your deck that do not actually do anything 80%+ of the time. Imagine a starting hand that has 2 copies of Dimension Scissor clogging it up, you've basically already lost that game. No, rather than building your entire deck around a very situational option, Dimension Scissor is much more likely to be run as a one or two of in decks that happen to have big digimon at the top end, so as to force the opponent to respect the possibility that you have it and play around it, without opening yourself up to too many dead draws.

it makes sense that Red and Yellow don't have +3000 options for 1 memory in new evolution, because they do have them in the starter decks. I think Potato Smasher stands out here as the card that has made the worst first impression on me. I want to compare it to Hammer Spark because it's effectively a way to functionally plus in memory, and on the face of it, yeah Hammer Spark is a +1 memory and Potato Smasher can be +2 memory (if you're evolving to Grankuwagamon) so it makes sense Potato Smasher would be more niche; but there's a number of problems: >the first is that obviously it's way more niche, to get any value from Potato Smasher because you need a lv5 on board and a lv6 in hand, and in a multicoloured deck you need both of them to be green, and even then you're only saving 2 memory if the lv6 is GranKuwagamon otherwise you're only getting as much as Hammer Spark would give you unconditionally. >the second is that there is a small memory prerequisite to play Potato Smash, playing it with 1 or 0 memory is passing turn for no effect, There is no minimum amount of energy needed to gain from Hammer Spark. >the third and potentially the biggest, is that all of those is comparing Potato Smasher's main skill to Hammer Spark's main skill, but quite frankly Hammer Skill's main skill is not exactly great, 1 card for 1 memory is very often a bad trade: it's much better as a security card that can suddenly end your opponent's turn or at least ruin their plan, and unlike cards with even more powerful security effects, it can't get stuck in your hand. When you inevitably draw it what it does might not be very good, but it'll always do something. In contrast, Potato Smasher's main skill is the only reason to play it, as that's all it does. It's a worse equivalent of the main skill of a card you play for the security effect, with no security effect of it's own. The game is new and and ready to be wrong about anything, but this seems like garbage. Also oh jeez I somehow in my head assumed Dimension Scissor was once per turn, I almost wonder if that's an oversight and it was supposed to be, because 3 memory seems around the appropriate rate for that, right? It's probably intended because someone would catch it if it wasn't but wow.
