Great job with the spinnaker. You picked a good day for it.

Thanks Denise, we could've used a little more wind but definitely less is better than more for a first attempt flying the spinnaker.

Light variable winds are a pain with a spinnaker. Good job!

The forecast was for consistent light southerly winds but I guess the passage and island had an effect. Definitely looking forward to having another spinnaker sail.

Great video, keep them coming! I am also just starting out sailing, and I am finding your videos more enjoyable and informative than the more popular sailing channels. A start to finish sail video with instructions would be good, to help us newbies out haha

Thanks Josh. I'm glad you're enjoying the video's and finding them useful. Not sure I'm qualified to be doing an instructional video but I'll certainly give it some thought. What sort of boat are you sailing?

@@VentureOffroadAustralia4x4 I bought a binks b25, im actually just at manly so your trip around peel is where I will be doing my sailing over Christmas. I went out with a sailing instructor already but it was a bit too much to try and take all in one day

You have a beautiful part of country to explore and the B25 is a nice boat. I found having people to share the learning with helped a lot. I also found writing myself a cheat sheet of sailing techniques helps, both because of writing it down and as a refresher before each sail. It's a massive amount of information to absorb in one day.

This is really funny. As you were approaching the island I was thinking he never fishes these nice areas. Fishing is like sailing in that it takes a little experience to get good at it. A tip: catfish feed more at night.

Thanks Jim. Sometimes we fish but don't show it because we never catch anything. Other times we don't throw in a line, anticipating failure. I've found sailing much easier to learn than fishing 🤣. I think we need a mentor.

@@VentureOffroadAustralia4x4 don't give up on fishing it's not all that hard. Use the right bait at the right time of day during the right moon phase then cross your fingers, hold your mouth just right, think like a fish and you'll catch them. I started fishing in 1961 and have it almost figured out.
