2016 Audi a3 quattro owner here. Turbo kicks in at second gear, 2500 rpm. People complaining about oil consumption in an Audi. I've had my A3 since new, bought it brand new, regular maintenance, oil change done every 5,000 kilometers (yes I do it very early), daily driven, drove it back and forth to British Columbia many times and I never had issues with oil consumption. I'm running stage 1 tune in it and she runs like a bat out of hell.

With DI, a secondary port injector is necessary as in the EA 888. ( Which never made it to our shores) Without it, carbon build-up in the intake port would eventually negatively affect engine performance thus causing loss of power, poor milage and eventual failure. Another words these US bound engines (like their diesels) were ticking time-bombs and thus pure VAG garbage 🗑!

Diesels are dirtly stuff. Petrol turbo charged is just wierd... take if you want but you'll get more sad suprises at your mechanic. Turbo Diesel in general is a nightmare to even think about. Thre's basically more stuff that can fall apart with dirt and tar, or need replacing over time in diesels than in petrols. Don't even get me started on DPF, you just wanna illeagaly rip it out of your car asp. Diesel engines are always tightly packed in their bay because of all the stuff, oil is never clear even when 1 week old right from the dealer store. They can have a thing called "runaway diesel" which translates to oil being combusted rather than just diesel... they stink, they're dirty, they sound like lorries, and as you may expect they break down more than any basic pertol. Diesel is for trucks and industry, not cars... end of the story. Pardon me, unless you drive like a lorry over very long distances all the time.
