I have questions. Background - I got my LNC 14 years ago after my cancer journey began. It sat mostly unused for ten years or so and I got it back out this January when my 4th occurrence was discovered. I have modded and it and been working on my boys' RCs as well. Still learning. So last week I bought my nephew a Redcat Everest 10 for him to run when he visits and he can take it to his grandmas when he visits her. It's very capable out of the box. We did the steering knuckle mod already. I don't want to get crazy with it right away, but the tires aren't great and the torque over on the chassis is very limiting on climbs. I was going to cut the stock tires and foams to get us by for a while and extend the shock mounts to get them more vertical and higher to lower the ride height. Softer springs would be great too, but I haven't had luck finding them for my OG LNC so... Anything you can pass on to me would be awesome. We've got 5 acres and lots of rocks. We're going to setup 2 or three places just for crawling. No bashing or mud stuff here. I don't have time to repair and clean all them. 🙂 The primary my boys use are a 1/10th slash 2wd raptor with paddles on back and a SCX10 hondo with minor mods. The SCX is sadly the most capable due to weight and tires. My LNC has tons of articulation, but even with about 8oz extra on the axles it's still too light. The everest is good on weight and can almost out crawl my LNC.

Nice comparison. The TRX4 tires would probably be the best all around if they were the same size as the other two.

Really nice truck. I would love to see it next to mine. I have super swampers and a few mods.. yours looks longer for some reason... did you extend your links,?
@RoadsideRC

Nope, not longer. But MUCH lower. Lower makes it look longer.

It looks good tho I don't think I would have lowered it...I prefer articulation and maybe a bit larger tire setup

You should try the low-life! You may be surprised how lowering the cog really helps in crawling.

@@RoadsideRC yeah but you lose alot of articulation sacrificing grip it looks 🤔 Especially on your track/course with the wavy boards...lots of belly rub

Traxxas actually does have a 2.2 canyon trail

Yes, but it was that odd ball that came on the Merc. 2.2 wheel, but same OD as what I show here. Doesn't really count as a true 2.2

@@RoadsideRC the 2.2 canyon trails are 5.3” diameter. 1.9s are 4.6”

Wow those amazons impressed me till it got to those steep stones , which with some wheel speed ended up doing it. They all spun a bit on that spot , but the amazons spun more. Everywhere else they all seemed pretty even to me. Well done test Troy! 💥🛞🤘🏻😊

Thank you! Yes, they were better than expected - but not really up to par for tires. I think there are even better options out there than what I found here.
