I entered Centerstage too, and we even got 1st place in our country. So: If you will still compete, I'm going to suggest to turn on the 30 seconds timer because now that your code hasn't finished yet and it still moving after the 30 seconds you can get eliminated in that match or get a penalty. Your robot did it in 32-33 seconds but at the end of 30 seconds the robot was actually in the backstage, wich gives +5 points. You can also put thoose pixels in the driver controlled perdiod (they bring a bit less points, but it's not a very big difference, so better then getting a penalty) if needed. Turn on your 30 seconds timer on the hub and good luck at the competition!

thanks! gl we fixed the spin later and removed some delays so the auto is less than 30 secs. this was the first test of the 2+5 :)

how do you guys get the claw intake able to pick up from the white pixel stacks and also the ground?

the intake can move up and down and also pick up from an angle

@@d1joshyat the end of the slide there are 3 servos. 1 for the angle to intake from, and 2 to move the intake up and down

mecanum :)

it looks like a mecanum, which controls similarly but works differently. It’s very popular for holonomic movement in FTC, but it’s not really used in FRC

@@ameliameter do you know why theres no use of it in frc, i just moved from ftc to frc recently and my team is using swerve which seems better but I wonder why mecanum isnt used at all? maybe its not that good on a larger scale?

@@musabkhan629i’m pretty sure mecanum isn’t used because it’s a bit unreliable, and the large mecanum wheels aren’t that great. I know some people that made better use of them as flywheels than as actual wheels

@@musabkhan629Swerve is just generally speaking more or less better in most ways if you can actually do it. It has better traction, and perfect efficiency in all directions. Meanwhile, mecanum wheels have slippage due to the diagonal free spinning rollers that allow them to move and are also less efficient(I believe strafing is usually like 1.1 to 1.5x slower than forward back movement). The reason swerve isn't really used in ftc is that it requires a lot of space, and motors, with a standard "proper" swerve using up all 8 motor slots (this is why most swerves in ftc use servos to rotate the wheel and a motor to spin it).
