Thank you! Question: Why is it "ni" with a falling tone at 4:52 and 5:34 instead of "kon ni" as in 1:58 ? Great series by the way, I like that the lessons are short and easy to digest.

นี้(née) typically refers to something that is near the speaker in terms of time, location, or sequence. It can be used after a noun or noun classifier to indicate more specific, such as kon née คนนี้ (this person) or an née อันนี้ (this one), and we-laa née เวลานี้ (this time). นี่(nêe) also indicates proximity but is more general and can refer to something near the listener or in the immediate vicinity. นี่ is somewhat similar to 'here', as in อยู่นี่ yòo nêe(here it is), นี่คือ nêe kue(here is, or this is), or ที่นี่ têe nêe(here). For หมอนี่ (măw nêe), it is a special term used to refer to someone, typically in a negative way, and it is considered informal speech. However, using คนนี้ (kon née)is more polite. The reason why หมอนี่(măw nêe) is used instead of นี้(née) is because it conveys a negative way. This is the video about this and that. : kzitem.info/news/bejne/06uesWV_gJ6flnY

In Thai, "หมอ" (mawh) is the general word for "doctor." So, doctors in the hospital can be referred to as "หมอ" (mawh). However, if you want to specify the type of doctor, such as a dentist, you can say "หมอฟัน" (mawh fan). "ฟัน" (fan) means "tooth," so "หมอฟัน" (mawh fan) refers to the doctor who specializes in dental care.
