I'm in Florida on the Gulf coast in the big bend area. Storm is still ripping thru here. But I've got a husqvarna 562xp running a 24 inch bar with husqvarna C85 full house chain with a full wrap on it and I've got a lil husqvarna 130 which is super lite n running a 16 inch bar with full chisel chain both in my Xterra ready to rock n roll! Stay safe!!!

Guy needs a top handle on the list of SHTF saws. Unfortunately I can’t recommend either of the echo’s. I’ve had minor issues with both the 2511 and 355. Only husqvarna I’ve bought has been in the shop more than it’s been out so they’re a no from me as well. My ea5000 has been trouble free so it’s an option, hot start troubles on the 7900 I haven’t really looked out so it’s a no. Don’t have enough time on the 620 because it’s heavy and slow for a 60cc saw but the little issues with the small echos makes me a little dubious. That leaves my old 0 series Stihls that just keep on running and running although I didn’t have ignition issues after a couple thousand hrs with 066 red light but only have maybe a hundred on the one I kept so I’m pretty confident it’ll run in an emergency but nothing around here big enough to warrant it’s use so that’s leaves the 034 super and 044 magnum that are still basically new if I came across something the little Makita couldn’t handle. Still wish my 2511 was a tad higher quality though because today the little top handles do a lot of the work when I’m not out in the woods. 👍🏼👍🏼

Best wishes to everyone in the path of this storm. Always better to be over prepared than under👍🏻 I'm waayyy out of the way of Helene. But if I had to pick only 2 of my saws that are ready to go right now, probably my ported 4910 and G660 pro.

I had my Stihls ready to go yesterday. Been running my MS251 18" mostly today and MS362 25" for the bigger stuff. I will probably have to crank up my 661C with my 25" bar tomorrow for the really big stuff.

I started a couple saws last night and checked the chains but my biggest concern was filling and firing the generator, way more important than a power saw to me! I'd hate to lose 2 freezers full of meat....
