Nice catch. Seems like a common thing now days. Those pipe plugs end up everywhere.

Nice catch on the restriction. There was enough solder on those six small joints to do at least a couple of compressor changes. 🤣

Thanks. Yea, at least 6 compressor change outs. Lol

Why didn't you just used new piping and fittings

I guess since I didn't have any on my truck, and I knew that, since the job actually is a 2 hr drive from any supply houses and the shop, I just saw the disassembling option as the only one

That had to be smoking bad when they brazed that joint Black smoke would’ve been bellowing out That’s why all the solder because the black soot being released when it was brazed was causing the solder not to stick I will go a step further I’m sure it failed the pressure test and was leaking there and was repaired hence all the silver solder Geeez that’s pretty bad Good job man Master Tech shit right there

Was there a budget on this fix since you reuse what there already?

Yea it was Warranty unfortunately. But I just didn't really feel the need for new pipe. If umi would have had some on my truck already, then sure. But I didn't have that, so I just took it apart and reassembled.

Superheat and subcooling numbers after the repair seem off. Also why not replace the line?

Yal bring up a very good point of view... why didnt I just replace the line. This was the quickest way, because to get new pipe I would've had to make a very long trip for those materials. However, i could'veplanned for that the night before. Idk, this seemed just fine to me. Thanks for comment!

Heating that copper up all that many times would that not weakin the copper and possibly cause a leak down the line❤

Heating copper wont weaken it it will just make into soft tube instead of hard. the problem is the copper oxide flakes inside the tub. This guy is a handy man that thinks he is a refrigeration tech did you notice all the brand new tools he had

Pipe plug restriction to plugged driers the next day 😂

First you need to throw away that piece of crap torch and get an oxy acetylene that thing takes way to long to heat the joint and creates way too many copper oxide flakes inside the copper tube. and why in the hell did you reuse that scrap copper you had enough flakes inside that copper to totally plug the expansion valve.Buy yourself some lever benders and you would could have used a new piece of copper and 2 couplings
