I'm sorry that most of my recent videos have been about hurricanes. It's all that I can focus on right now. I hope Big News makes it through without any damage, but that seems less likely by the hour. I cannot move out of this slip because the roof slopes down toward the open end. It's too late to do anything but make sure the lines are tight and hope for good luck.

Good luck Cullen. We are expecting some remnants of your storm mixed with another coming from the west. Luckily boating season has past and mine is on the hard for this one.

Cullen, I hope that you and your boat made it through the storm ok. Unless you didn't have any I missed some of your episodes. Please let me know what projects that I may have missed. Since first seeing your boat I would choose the metal hull. I don't recall, is your hull aluminium or steel? Best wishes.

it is a fiberglass hull. One of the thicker ones you can get since the technology was fairly new and Chris Craft wanted to make sure their boats were strong.

When the hurricane passes, you should start thinking about solving that problem. It occurs to me that a floating roof should also be made, as the water rises, the roof also rises. This could be achieved through rollers similar to those of the floating dock. It will surely cost money, but if the water had continued to rise, many boats would be ruined. These meteorological disasters, I suppose that they are going to increase and not decrease.

if the tide comes up again, threatening your windshield or mast, you could flood the bilge with a bit of water. Check how much you can stand before flooding damages anything expensive. I'd use fresh water from a faucet after filling the water tanks.,less damage than flooding with salt water.

That’s an awful idea. Then you are pushing through hulls, etc. under water making a bad situation even worse. A windshield can be replaced.

I guess you could remove the bimini if it gets any higher. What is the actual hard top of your boat?

I know that was stressful. Enough with these storms already. I am happy it was just a close call and no damage. But wow it was very close.

Cullen, Chuck from. California. How did you do with the tide rising and the very top of your covered slip ? In California, all the covered slips float with the dock. Seems like strange construction, that a covered slip is not floating and does not adjust with the tides. Perhaps you are on a lake.

The dock is not floating either. It's all concrete and roses and falls with the tidal river. I was ok after all, the water never got higher than the first night high tide that I made a video about.

What ended up happening here???? That is some scaryyyyyy shit man... did anyone hit the concrete??? I hate when the water levels change like this. It dropped so low here a few weeks ago my chris 425 dropped below the damn dock and concrete and steel thrashed my 1 inch rub rail.. luckily didnt reach the fiberglass😤 hope it turned out ok bro.
