I like the sound of bnsf 8434’s k5lla, the flat 4a makes it sound like a beefy low pitched P5

I don’t think that has a flat 4a. Sounds like a typical raised letter

Anybody notice how these days there are less and less mixed freight trains and mainly containers, trailer flats, and auto racks? Less and less businesses and more and more port to port

I just read in the article a couple days ago that Within 4 years the trailer Flats and the roadrailers are to be phased out. The railroads are looking to only move double containers because of its efficiency.

First power move had 26 locomotives while the second power move had 27 locomotives. That's a lot of horsepower there

I counted 9 lease units in one of the power move consists; why would they have so many lease units when they have large numbers of locomotives laid up In Salt Lake and Galveston?

Great video! Can anyone explain to me, why are they moving so many locs at once ? :)
@dmp9135

Probably storage. Nowadays they can move a 2 to 2.5-mile train with two engines in a front and a radio-controlled locomotive towards the rear of the train.

@@dmp9135 thank you. In EUROPE we are not used to these things :) I wonder why there are non ELECTRIC freight trains in the USA, since its a FIRST WORLD country, plus there are plenty of nuclear powered plants....
