Result 1: Remainder of sum of numbers = sum of remainders of numbers.
Result 2: Remainder of product of numbers = product of remainders of the numbers
Key Questions Answered in this video:
1. Can the remainder of dividing a number by a divisor 'd' be equal to or greater than 'd'?
2. How to find the nominal remainder if the remainder obtained using rules 1 or 2 is either equal to or exceeds the divisor 'd'.
Each of these concepts in remainder theorem has been illustrated with numerical examples. Get conversant with these two rules and with the idea of working in the remainder framework. You could expect 1 or 2 questions either in the GMAT problem solving section or GMAT DS section testing these ideas.
