This is how I learned to install new pads on Harley Touring bikes with solid rear calipers and floating rotors. I haven't seen this method posted on youtube so here you go. Much easier than you would think. This method is described in the service manual but seeing it in action helps make it more clear.
I hope it saves you some time.
Step one, align the pad on the rotor using the rivets as I show. It's the same alignment for both the inner and outer pad.
Step two, hold the pad in place and rotate the rotor toward the front of the bike.
Make sure you've compressed the caliper pistons fully so the new thicker pads have room to slide in.
