Part 2 of a series following the fortunes of West Ham United under Harry Redknapp.
A difficult start to the season with only one goal from open play in the opening seven games. It doesn’t look too good for the trip to Stamford Bridge but The Hammers show steel and resolve to win 2-1. They get past Walsall in the League Cup then beat relegation rivals Palace before an unlucky defeat at Old Trafford. Julian Dicks returns on a pay-as-you-play deal and gives everyone a lift, making his second debut in a 2-0 home win over Southampton. Chelsea are beaten again in the League Cup and things are looking up. But then defeats away at struggling Tottenham and Everton show that the corner has not quite been turned yet.
