I decided to make the off-road course a little bit more “off-road” by adding a water crossing.

You’re an amazing rider all around. Looks like you are in your natural habitat in those open, flat desert sections. You passed countless people with just sheer control at high speed in those sections. Speeds others didn’t seem comfortable to attempt. I’m a new subscriber and I’m really enjoying the content. Take care out there.

Yes, he seems to do especially well in the fastest, roughest sections. Holds it wide open longer than others... crazy fast. That 300 was working so hard in the sand for a 90 minute race!

It would be awesome if you would add the gopro GPS speed to your videos, I would love to see your speeds so I could know just how slow I actually am in comparison :)

I learned to ride on an old clapped out 1990 rm 80. I then moved onto a kx 125. We rode single track all summer. It was difficult to ride these steep rocky trails in idaho on these little 2 strokes but you’re right Josh, learning clutch control and finding the sweet spot in the powerband were skills that have paid off. My dad was criticized for having us on motocross specific bikes on trails. Turns out he was smart not to have us ride the easy beginner 4 strokes. Love this content btw. Thanks Josh

We’re friends. We ride at our local track all the time. Luckily we trust each other with our lives jumping a blind step up side by side.

Josh, in this video and others you have made I ofttimes hear the squeal of what sounds like your rear brake. Is that because it gets so hot? Do you ride or utilize the rear brake more because you might be using an auto clutch and not have any engine braking? Inquiring minds want to know. ;-) Great videos, you are an outstanding rider!!

Jim, great observation. I have a long history of being very hard on brakes, particularly rear brakes. I use them a lot, I drag them through turns, sometimes I have poor foot positioning and rest my foot on the brake pedal. I often get my rear brakes very hot and that is what you're hearing in a lot of my videos. I have gotten better over the last 5 years or so and don't boil my brakes quite like I used to. I have really tried to correct my poor foot positioning and be very deliberate about my braking zones. Most riders use some form of clutch or brake dragging to control and modulate speed in corners. Also 2-strokes will require more modulation because of the reduced engine braking. I don't run any type of auto clutch. Thanks for your support!

How was the scoop tire?
@ridewiththeknights
Жыл бұрын
My first impressions of the scoop tire were really good. I expected to lose more traction on hard pack however the tire felt predictable. It does definitely improve your traction in deep sand. It doesn’t necessarily correlate with speed unless you use it the right way. I found that it stays on top of the sand just a little bit better and allows you to pull taller gears at lower RPM. This suites my riding style by allowing me to ride a gear high in most areas. More info to come in a later video.
